More trouble for Sanusi

More trouble may still be lurking the way of suspended Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria , Saanusi Lamido Sanusi as the Odi community in Bayelsa State has asked a Federal High Court to commit him and other top officials of the bank to prison for their failure to pay the sum of N37 616 871 000 compensation to the victims of the 1999 massacre as directed by the court.

Other officials of the bank that the community is seeking to commit to jail include the acting Governor of the CBN, Sarah Alade; Deputy Governor Corporate Services Directorate, Suleiman Barau, Deputy Governor Financial System Stability, Dr. Kingsley Moghalu and the bank’s Head of legal services S. M. Onekut, report ThisDay.

The CBN was one of the judgment debtors in the ruling of Jstice Lambo Akanbi in 2013.  Others judgement debtors are the President, the Minister of Defence, the Chief of Defence Staff and the Attorney General of the Federation.

The case is coming barely a week after President Goodluck Jonathan suspended Sanusi from office over allegations of various acts of financial recklessness and misconduct.
