Queues in some filling stations in some states will soon disappear as
the Federal Government has approved the importation of petroleum
products.
The approval follows the release of the first quarter
of 2014 fuel import allocations to the Nigerian National Petroleum
Corporation (NNPC) and private major marketer.
NNPC
received 50% of the import allocation while 30 other private marketers
were granted approval based on their capacity and track record in
previous quarters.
The allocation, which was done through the
Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA), is expected to end
the current scarcity of petrol.
