Ebola Virus: WHO Warns Kenya, Other East African Nations

.The World Health Organization (WHO) declared East Africa may soon suffer Ebola virus outbreak, put Kenya #1 on the risk list. The WHO stated that Kenya was the most vulnerable, as it is an important transport hub between the East and the West, the North and the South.

The organisation has never issued such a serious warning to that region of the African continent before.

Kenyan authorities reacted immediately, confirmed that health checks at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), main airport of the nation’s capital, Nairobi, had been stepped up in recent weeks.

The positive sign is that Kenya, which receives more than 70 flights a week from West Africa, is not considering a ban on flights from the four countries suffering from the virus most of all (Guinea, Liberia, Nigeria, and Sierra Leone).

Women in Liberia pray every day for people affected by Ebola.
