Three Ghanaian students of the Wa Senior High Technical
School have died from a strange disease, which is attributed by some of
their mates to occultism.
The situation has caused panic
among the students, which forced the school authorities to hold an
emergency meeting over the future of the institution.
The students demand temporary shutdown of the school, claiming they are afraid of their lives.
"Just
today, we lost a form three guy and as i am talking you, a girl
collapsed and has been taken to hospital. Blood is coming from her nose
and we don’t know if she will survive. We can’t study, we can’t sleep," - one of them said.
The attempts of the school administration to calm down the students failed, as the latter refused and chanted all night long.
However, they were later calmed by the SRC executives after which they resorted to singing gospel songs and reciting the Quran.
The
school governing body chariman, Rafiq Salam, said security cameras
would be installed at vantage points in the school and also introduce
counseling sessions for the students
